63 for Sony Vaio Z-series and Linux -- more internal microphone details

More and more interesting details are coming from the Linux on Sony Vaio Z-series launchpad group. Recent emails on the mailing list deal with the sound card parameters needed to make the internal microphone work:

[...] options snd-hda-intel model=vaio position_fix=0 which enables external mic and leaving me to mute "front" manually when listening through headphones [...]

We reached 63 users in this group. Lenovo ThinkPad X301, Dell Latitude E4200/E4300 and Samsung X360 are also gathering steam, although at a different pace. This can mean many things: that not so many people bought the laptop, that those are mainly Microsoft users or that these laptops don't have funky features that won't work out of the box, and there is less interest in joining the launchpad group. Time will tell...
